Why an Icelandic horse?
The Icelandic horse is small, sure-footed and famously long-lived — and it is the only breed that offers five gaits instead of three. Most horses walk, trot and canter. An Icelandic horse can also tölt, and some can hold the flying pace.
That is why every horse on our list shows its gaits. A four-gaited horse has the tölt; a five-gaited horse has the flying pace as well. Neither is better — they suit different riders.
The four-beat walk every horse has. Steady, unhurried, and where a ride begins and ends.
The familiar two-beat gait, diagonal pairs of legs moving together. Icelandic horses trot willingly, though many riders reach for the tölt instead.
The three-beat canter, and the gallop it opens into. On an Icelandic horse both are collected and easy to sit.
The gait the breed is loved for. A four-beat gait with no moment of suspension: one foot is always on the ground, so there is no bounce. You can carry a full glass at speed — and riders with bad backs can ride for hours. Every horse we sell can tölt.
A two-beat racing gait where the legs on the same side move together, with a moment of suspension — fast, flat and thrilling, ridden in short bursts. Only a five-gaited horse has it. It is the mark of a versatile competition horse, and it is what separates our five-gaited horses from our four-gaited ones.

Buying feed? Straw and wrap are collected at the stable. We confirm what is in the barn when we contact you.
Questions we are often asked
Yes — and we would encourage it. Viewings and trial rides are by appointment: contact us and we will arrange a time. Nobody should buy a horse they have not ridden.
You can pay a deposit online to take a horse off the market while you make up your mind. If you change your mind, the horse goes straight back up for sale — and whether the deposit is refunded depends on the refund window shown on the horse.
Yes. Every price on this site includes Danish VAT at 25%. What you see is what you pay.
Because riding here means signing a contract with us first. Register, we will get in touch to arrange it, and your account is activated the moment it is signed. It is one conversation, not a bureaucracy.
Yes, from your own dashboard. Cancel within the refund window shown for that facility and you get your money back; after it, the slot is yours whether you ride or not.
A booking for a riding facility covers one rider with one horse at that time slot.
No — bales are collected at the stable. Delivery is not something we offer through the shop; if you have a special case, talk to us.
